Sara Leon & Associates recently successfully secured dismissal of a disability discrimination claim against a high school teacher. The parent of a high school student alleged that the teacher and others in the school district discriminated against her based on her disability, an eating disorder. The suit named the teacher as an individual defendant, along with the school district. Finding that the teacher could not be individually liable for the student’s claims, on March 25, 2020 the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas granted the teacher’s motion to dismiss her as a party to the lawsuit.
