Our Public Finance Team boasts an impressive track record of excellence serving as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, underwriter's counsel, and outside special counsel on transactions involving Texas governmental entities, including school districts. We have the experience needed to navigate even the most complex public finance transactions.
Since 2015, members of the Leon | Alcala team have participated in over 250 public finance transactions aggregating over $22,000,000,000 in par value. These transactions have involved school districts, as well as counties, institutions of higher education, cities, special districts, economic development corporations, tax increment reinvestment zones and local government corporations, among others.
Since 2018, members of our team have served as elections counsel on over 70 bond elections involving over $15 billion in bonds in the aggregate. Our team has also worked on some of the largest bond elections in the State of Texas, including the $3.5 billion Harris County Metro Transit Authority Bond Election held in November 2019, the $2.5 billion Harris Health System Bond Election to be held in November 2023, the $2.5 billion Harris County Flood Control District Bond Election held in August 2018 in response to Hurricane Harvey, and the $2.439 billion Austin ISD Bond Election held in November 2022
