Erika is a dual U.S./UK qualified attorney and is licensed to practice in Texas, as well as in England and Wales. Her practice focuses on public finance matters, and she serves as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel and disclosure counsel to school districts in Texas. Erika attended public school in England and has an affinity for working with public school districts; she truly believes in the power of continuously improving public schools and the opportunities they provide to shape well-rounded adults in the future.
Before joining Leon Alcala’s Public Finance practice, Erika was an Associate in the Banking & Finance practice of a large international law firm in London, UK. At her prior firm, Erika worked on a broad range of domestic and cross-border financing matters on both Borrower and Lender side, including corporate and leveraged finance deals, as well as venture debt and alternative financing transactions for specialist financial technology companies.
As part of her prior firm’s Banking & Finance team’s financial technology sub-practice, Erika also worked across a wide-ranging scope of digital asset-related matters and acted for a variety of high-profile industry participants. Her work included advising clients on the financial regulatory framework for digital assets in the UK, fundraising and cryptoasset lending transactions, as well as cryptoasset-specific M&A transactions.
Public Finance
